It seems that this Christmas season many of our patrons received the gift of technology to boost them into the 21st century. Much of this technology taking the form of some sort of e-reader device such as the Nook, Kindle, or iPad, etc. We will be offering tutorials and instructional classes here at the library for those that need a little help getting started or unsure of How to get started. Please visit our website frequently and register online for any upcoming events. In the meantime feel free to browse the tutorials at ncls.northcountrylibraries.org/node/284 to familiarize yourself with the eMedia Library and the different types of devices and formats.
Every year the Friends of the Library sponsor the annual tree lighting ceremony for the Philadelphia community. However, there is a slight change this year as we will not be meeting at Kent Lane Park as we have done in the past. This year we will place a Christmas Tree in the gazebo that sits in the back of the library yard. Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm, Friends and community members will gather around as we light the tree and sing a few carols and Santa will be there to meet and greet. Afterwards we can wonder over to the Philadelphia American Legion for free refreshments, and patrons may choose to purchase raffle tickets for the wonderful baskets that the Friends have donated. There are many to choose from as well as raffle drawing for thenook color!! This is a wonderful drawing to get in on, the nook color costs $268.00!! It can be yours for only $1.00 Hope to see you there.
