SCOLA - A Foreign Language Resource

A NEW  foreign language resource is now available on the web for Philadelphia patrons!  Bodman Memorial Library is pleased to announce we have purchased an annual subscription to the SCOLA language resource for our Philadelphia patrons.

SCOLA's Mission is to help the people of the world learn about one another; their cultures, their languages and their ideologies. SCOLA emphasizes the importance and effectiveness of modern information technology as a tool in overcoming barriers to global understanding and will remain at the forefront of its application.

What is SCOLA?

SCOLA is a non-profit educational organization that has been around for over 30 years in the United States.  Everything on the SCOLA site is designed to help people learn or teach a foreign language through the use of current news and entertainment, international newspapers and thousands of cultural photos, and more.  They provide services in over 200 languages!  All materials used in SCOLA services are 100% authentic - the content is not edited and nothing gets cut out, not even the commercials.
